Opera
Tosca
Passion, betrayal, and sacrifice. A love story echoing through the shadows of Rome.
About Performance
The painter Cavaradossi helps the escaped republican prisoner Angelotti find shelter, but the chief of police, Scarpia, and his agents pick up the trail.
Through cunning promises and threats, Scarpia extracts a confession from Tosca, the painter's lover, and Cavaradossi is captured and sentenced to death. Tosca begs for mercy, but Scarpia refuses — he will pardon him only if Tosca agrees to be his. To save Cavaradossi, Tosca agrees, but in return demands documents that will let him leave Rome safely.
